I wonder if the name comes from the idea to kiss quickly
before the color of the flowers change.

It is true when the flower opens it is violet- mauve.
Then fades to pale mauve.
Again it fades to white .
Al three colors at the same time  on one tree
That is why its known  as Yesterday-today -and tomorrow.
